3. How to use Terbinafin-ratiopharm

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The tube of Terbinafin-ratiopharm cream is hermetically sealed. To open the tube, use the tip on the top of the cork.
•   Before using the cream, wash and dry your hands and the area of skin to be treated.
•   Uncork the tube and press a small amount of cream onto your finger.
•   Close the tube with the cork.
•   Apply a thin layer of cream on and around the affected area.
•   Rub the cream lightly into the skin.
•   Wash your hands after touching the affected area in order to prevent the infection from spreading to other areas of skin or to other people.
Terbinafin-ratiopharm cream is used once or twice a day. A seven-day treatment is often sufficient. Continue using the cream within the recommended period, even if the symptoms disappear within a couple of days. This way, you will avoid the recurrence of the disease and the treatment will be successful. However, it takes longer for the affected area to heal completely - even up to 4 weeks. The effect of Terbinafin-ratiopharm cream continues after the discontinuation of its use. The healing process will continue despite not using the cream.
If the symptoms have not subsided within 2 weeks, you should consult your doctor. Healing is aided by keeping the area of skin to be treated clean by washing it regularly. Dry the skin carefully without rubbing it. Try not to scratch the affected area despite the itching, because it increases skin damage and slows down the healing process or it may cause the infection to spread. As such infections may be passed on to other people, nobody other than you can use your towel or wear your clothes. Wash your clothes and towel frequently in order to protect yourself from reinfection. Wear cotton socks and disinfect your shoes.

If you accidentally swallowed Terbinafin-ratiopharm cream

If you have administered a larger amount of external medicine that contains terbinafine, it is recommended to administer activated charcoal and seek medical attention. You may experience headache, nausea, abdominal pain, and dizziness, and you may require medical attention.

If you forget to use Terbinafin-ratiopharm cream

If you forget to use Terbinafin-ratiopharm cream, do it as soon as possible. If it is already time for the next use, apply the prescribed amount on the skin and then continue as usual.
It is important to adhere to the prescribed application times, as missed application times may increase the risk of recurrence of the disease.
