1.   What Traumeel S ointment is and what it is used for

Traumeel S is a homeopathic preparation.

2.   What you need to know before you use Traumeel S ointment Do not use Traumeel S ointment:

-   If you are allergic or hypersensitive to any ingredients of Traumeel S ointment (listed in section 6);
-   if you are hypersensitive to plants in the daisy family (arnica, camomile, yarrow);
-   if you are hypersensitive to cetostearyl alcohol.

Warnings and precautions

Ingredients of the product may cause local allergic reactions. Do not apply the ointment on large skin areas or directly on open wounds.

Other medicines and Traumeel S ointment

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or might use any other medicines, including over-the-counter medicines.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Negative effects have not been reported.

Driving and using machines

Using Traumeel S does not compromise the ability to drive or use machines.

3. How to use Traumeel S ointment

Always use Traumeel S ointment exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Recommended dosage:
Apply ointment on the affected or painful area and massage it gently into the skin; use in the morning and in the evening or more frequently of needed; can be used as an ointment bandage.
If you have the impression that the effect of Traumeel S ointment is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

If you use more Traumeel S ointment tablets than you should

No cases of overdose have been reported.

If you forget to use Traumeel S ointment

Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

If you stop using Traumeel S ointment

If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, Traumeel S ointment can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
There is a possibility of rare allergic reactions, such as skin rash, redness, pricking sensation or sweating in persons with hypersensitivity to plants in the daisy family. Stop using the medicine if any side effects occur.
The excipient cetostearyl alcohol may cause local allergic reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).

How to store Traumeel S ointment

This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use Traumeel S ointment after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.
