Warnings and precautions

Talk to your doctor before using PARAMAX if you have renal or hepatic failure or if you have problems with alcohol abuse.

Other medicines and PARAMAX

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
To avoid life-threatening poisoning, PARAMAX tablets must not be used simultaneously with other analgesic or anti-inflammatory medicines containing paracetamol.
Simultaneous use of sedatives, antiepileptics, rifampicin or herbal products containing St. John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum) may cause liver damage even in permitted doses. Simultaneous use of paracetamol and chloramphenicol may decrease the chloramphenicol elimination rate from the body and increase toxicity. Concomitant treatment with medicines inhibiting blood clotting must be carried out under a doctor’s supervision. The effect of paracetamol may be affected by medicines influencing gastric emptying rate (e.g. metoclopramide, domperidone).

PARAMAX with alcohol

In the case of simultaneous consumption of alcohol, liver damage may occur even in permitted doses.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
PARAMAX may be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding but the recommended doses must be followed. Small quantities of paracetamol are excreted in breast milk but it is unlikely to have any effect on the baby.

Driving and using machines

PARAMAX has no effect on the ability to drive or use machines.

If you take more PARAMAX than you should

The following symptoms indicate poisoning: loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, pain in right subcostal area, yellow skin and mucous membranes, discolouration of urine and faeces.
