1. What Strepsils Honey & Lemon is and what it is used for
Strepsils Honey & Lemon lozenges contain a combination of two antiseptic active substances, which kills the bacteria that cause mouth and throat infections. Strepsils Honey & Lemon lozenges are used as disinfectants in the case of mouth and throat infections.
2. What you need to know before you use Strepsils Honey & Lemon Do not use Strepsils Honey & Lemon:
- if you are allergic to the active substance(s) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6). Children: this medicine is not recommended for small children due to the risk of choking.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility
Pregnancy Data are not available or are limited regarding the use of amylmetacresol and 2.4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol. As with all medicines, caution is advised when using this medicine during pregnancy and if necessary, a doctor should be consulted.
Breast-feeding
It is not known whether 2.4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol and amylmetacresol are excreted in breast milk. A risk to newborns/infants cannot be excluded.
Fertility
There are no data on the effect on fertility.
3. How to use Strepsils Honey & Lemon
In order to relieve the symptoms, use the minimum effective dose for the shortest possible time. Adults: allow 1 lozenge to slowly dissolve in the mouth every 2-3 hours but do not take more than 8 tablets a day.
Children
Children above the age of 6: as adults above. Children under the age of 6: not suitable for children under the age of 6. Elderly: as adults above. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.
If you take more Strepsils Junior than you should
Overdose may cause digestive complaints.
4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. 5. How to store Strepsils Honey & Lemon
Do not store at a temperature higher than 25 °C. Store in the original package, protected from moisture. Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. 6. Contents of the pack and other information What Strepsils Honey & Lemon contains
The active substances are amylmetacresol and 2.4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol. One lozenge delivers 0.6 mg of amylmetacresol and 1.2 mg of 2.4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol. The excipients are honey, quinoline yellow, tartaric acid, peppermint oil, lemon oil, liquefied sugar, liquefied glucose, and purified water.
What Strepsils Honey & Lemon looks like and contents of the pack
The lozenges are packaged in a blister package made from transparent polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with a thickness of 250 microns, covered with a 40 gsm polyvinylidene chloride (PVdC); heat-sealed with an aluminium coating with a thickness of 20 microns; and covered with a 7 gsm coating. or The lozenges are packaged in a blister package made from transparent polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with a thickness of 250 microns, covered with a 90 gsm polyvinylidene chloride (PVdC); heat-sealed with an aluminium coating with a thickness of 20 microns; and covered with a 7 gsm coating. The blister package contains 12 tablets. Two or three blisters are packaged in a cardboard carton. The lozenge is yellow and round (diameter 1.8 cm).
