1. What Linola Urea is and what it is used for

Linola Urea cream contains the active substance urea and is used to treat dry hyperkeratotic and/or flaking skin. The beneficial effect of urea is obtained by its ability to bind water in epidermal stratum corneum (the outermost layer of the skin). Water gives the skin smoothness and elasticity.
Besides the ability to bind water, urea has excellent keratolytic properties, which are important in treatment of ichthyosis. Urea has an anti-inch and mild antiseptic effect. In high concentrations, urea has proteolytic properties, which are useful for treatment of skin warts and for dissolving nails damaged by fungal foot infections.

2. What you need to know before you use Linola Urea Do not use Linola Urea:

-   if you are allergic to urea or any other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
-   on of scratched skin or acute dermatitis;
-   on large areas of the skin if you have kidney problems.

Warnings and precautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Linola Urea.
Before you start using the medicine tell your doctor about any other diseases you have.
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

Children

Do not use Linola Urea on newborns and children under 1 year of age because there is no clinical experience concerning this age group.

Other medicines and Linola Urea

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or might use any other medicines.
Release or absorption of other externally used medicines may increase due to Linola Urea. There is evidence of this effect in the case of corticosteroid, dithranol and 5-fluorouracil use. Pay attention to the fact that the absorption of recently used medicines may also increase.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

Linola Urea may be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding as there are no adverse effects observed.

Driving and using machines

Linola Urea cream has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.

Linola urea contains propylene glycol

Propylene glycol may cause skin irritation.

3. How to use Linola Urea

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Unless otherwise specified, apply a thin layer of Linola Urea twice daily on the affected skin area and rub in lightly. Treatment duration depends on the nature and severity of the disease.
If you feel that the effect of Linola Urea is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

If you use more Linola Urea than you should

If Linola Urea is applied in too large quantities or too frequently, increased skin irritation may occur. In this case, after the irritation has subsided, the dose and application frequency of the medicine should be adjusted according to the condition of the patient’s skin.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The main side effects of Linola Urea use are tingling, flushing, itching and redness of the skin, which usually disappear when the treatment is stopped. If hypersensitivity to any of the excipients, especially propylene glycol or phenoxyethanol, occurs, treatment with Linola Urea should be discontinued.

5. How to store Linola Urea

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not store above 25°C.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton.

6. Contents of the pack and other information

What Linola urea contains

-   The active substance is urea.
-   The other ingredients are phenoxyethanol, dimethicone 350, cetyl alcohol, lactic acid,
sodium lactate, propylene glycol, polyoxyethylene-20-glyceryl monostearate, glyceryl monostearate, triglycerides, paraffin and water.

Package size: each tube contains 75 g, 50, 150g or 500g of cream.
