1. What Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K is and what it is used for

Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K is an oral liquid.
Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K is a traditional herbal remedy with indications based on long experience of use:
-   as a soothing remedy in case of mild symptoms of nervous strain
-   as a general tonic and aid for recovery from colds
-   as a general fortification in case of mild cardiovascular disorders

2. What you need to know before you use Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K Do not use Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K:

if you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
due to the alcohol content, this medicine is not suitable in case of liver diseases, alcoholism, epilepsy, brain damage and pregnancy, as well as for children.
This medicine should not be administered to patients with rare diseases, such as hereditary fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase deficit.

Warnings and precautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Doppelherz Energovital Tonik:
-   if the medicine is taken by following the recommended dosage, the patient will ingest 2.8 g of alcohol from each dose (20 mL), as the medicine contains 17% alcohol by volume;
-   if you have diabetes: the daily dose (60-80 mL) corresponds to 0.9-1.2 bread units.

Children:

Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K is counterindicated to children under 12 years of age due to insufficient safety and efficacy data.

Other medicines and Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
The medicine can affect the absorption and efficacy of other medicines due to its alcohol content.

Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K with food and drink

Take 20 mL of medicine 3-4 times per day before meals and before going to sleep without additional liquids.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Use of Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K is not recommended during pregnancy and breast-feeding due to insufficient clinical data and the alcohol content of the medicine.

Driving and using machines

The medicine affects the ability to drive and use machines due to its alcohol content. Do not use the medicine immediately before driving.

Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K contains alcohol

One dose (20 ml) of Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K contains 2.8 g of alcohol.
The daily dose (60-80 ml) of Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K corresponds to 0.9-1.2 bread units.

3. How to use Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is: 20 mL of medicine (1 dose) 3-4 times per day before meals and before going to sleep without additional liquids.
Usual treatment duration is 2-3 weeks.

If you take more Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K than you should

If you have taken more medicine than prescribed, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Thus far, severe overdose symptoms have not been observed.
Very large doses can reduce blood pressure, cause abnormal heart rhythm and symptoms of alcohol poisoning. Ask your doctor about the necessity of special treatment.

If you forget to use Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K

Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

If you stop using Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K

Treatment with Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K can be terminated without any problems at any time. If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Isolated cases of hypersensitivity reactions induced by certain ingredients of the medicine cannot be precluded. No side effects have been observed upon the administration of the recommended dose of Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K.

5. How to store Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not store at a temperature higher than 25 °C.
After the first opening of the bottle, the medicine should be used within 3 months.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

6. Contents of the pack and other information

- The active ingredients are:
20 ml (1 dose) of Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K oral liquid contains the following active ingredients:
Crataegi fructus extractum fluidum (hawthorn berry liquid extract)
(DER1: 1; extraction solvent 50% ethanol by weight)   400 mg
Crataegi fructus extractum fluidum (hawthorn berry liquid extract)
(DER1:2; extraction solvent 60% ethanol by volume)   220 mg
Melissae folii extractum fluidum (melissa leaf liquid extract)
(DER1: 1; extraction solvent 30% ethanol by weight)   100 mg
Rosmarini folii extractum fluidum (rosemary leaf liquid extract)
(DER1: 1; extraction solvent 19% ethanol by volume)   100 mg
Valerianae radicis extractum fluidum (valerian root liquid extract)
(DER1: 1; extraction solvent 40% ethanol by weight)   100 mg
- The other ingredients are honey, inverted sugar solution, glycerol, caramel E 150, and liqueur wine.
The medicine contains 17% ethanol by volume.

What Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K looks like and contents of the pack

Clear, dark brown aromatic and sweet oral liquid.
Doppelherz Energovital Tonik K is packaged in an amber glass bottle with a screw cap with a protective collar. Packaged in a cardboard box with a polypropylene measuring cup. The bottle contains 250 mL, 500 mL, 750 mL or 1,000 mL.
