Gasec Gastrocaps contains the active ingredient omeprazole that reduces the production of gastric acid.
Gasec Gastrocaps 10 mg capsules are used in adults starting from 18 years of age for the relief of symptoms related to excess stomach acid (heartburn, gastric reflux, upper abdominal pain).
Your doctor can also prescribe Gasec Gastrocaps 10 mg hard capsules for other indications of omeprazole.
You must talk to a doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 14 days.

2. What you need to know before you use Gasec Gastrocaps Do not use Gasec Gastrocaps:

-   if you are allergic to omeprazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6). If you have had an unusual reaction to any other medicine, talk to your doctor or pharmacist;

Warnings and precautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Gasec Gastrocaps:
-   if you are pregnant, planning to have a baby, or breast-feeding (see “Pregnancy and breastfeeding”);
-   if there is a suspicion of a gastric ulcer, the possibility of a malignant tumour must be precluded before commencing treatment with omeprazole, as the treatment can disguise the symptoms of tumour growth and delay the diagnosis;
-   tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have other diseases, allergies or if you are taking other medicines (including over-the-counter medicines!);
-   if you have ever had skin reactions after treatment with a medicine similar to Gasec Gastrocaps, which reduces stomach acidity;
-   if a specific blood analysis is planned (chromogranin A).
If you get a rash, especially in an area not protected from the sun, tell your doctor about it as soon as possible, as you may have to discontinue treatment with Gasec Gastrocaps. Be sure to mention any other side effects, such as joint pain.
If you have had recurring indigestion or heartburn over an extended period of time, you must regularly see a doctor. If you are over 55 years old, it is very important that you tell your doctor if you are taking daily doses of an over-the-counter medicine against indigestion or heartburn.
Talk to your doctor:
-   if you have previously had a gastric ulcer or gastric or intestinal surgery;
-   if you have received continuous treatment against indigestion or heartburn for a period of at least 4 weeks;
-   if your skin or the whites of your eyes have turned yellow (jaundice) or if you have a severe liver disease;
-   if you are over 55 years old and you have developed new symptoms or the nature of your existing symptoms has changed.
Do not use omeprazole as a preventive medicine.

Adults starting from 18 years of age
