Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

1. What Deep Heat Rub is and what it is used for
Deep Heat Rub cream is a non-greasy, analgesic cream to be applied onto the skin. It is used for relieving muscle, joint and nerve pain.
2. What you need to know before you use Deep Heat Rub Do not use Deep Heat Rub if you are allergic to:
- racemic menthol, methyl salicylate, turpentine oil, eucalyptus oil or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
- analgesics, such as acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin), ibuprofen and other non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), especially if you have developed bronchial asthma when using these medicines.
Do not use Deep Heat Rub:
- in children under 5 years of age;
- around the eyes or other sensitive areas, on the mucous membranes. If the cream gets onto these areas, wash it off with copious amounts of clean water;
- injured or inflamed skin.
Deep Heat Rub is only meant for application on the skin. Do not administer orally.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor before using Deep Heat Rub if:
- you are pregnant or breast-feeding;
- you have bronchial asthma.
Other medicines and Deep Heat Rub
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Ask your doctor for advice before using Deep Heat Rub, if you are using medicines which thin the blood or inhibit blood clotting (incl. acetylsalicylic acid).
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Ask your doctor for advice before using Deep Heat Rub if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. The cream is not recommended during pregnancy.
Important information concerning certain ingredients of Deep Heat Rub cream
Deep Heat Rub contains:
• Propylene glycol that can cause skin irritation.
• wool grease (lanolin) and cetostearyl alcohol that can cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).
In case of skin irritation, stop using the cream and talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
3. How to use Deep Heat Rub
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Deep Heat Rub is suitable for adults and children starting from the age of 5.
- First test the cream on a small area of skin.
- Apply a thin layer of Deep Heat Rub cream on the damaged area and massage into the skin.
- Use Deep Heat Rub 2 to 3 times per day. It can be used before or after exercise.
- Wash your hands immediately after using the cream to prevent the cream from getting into sensitive areas, such as the lips or around the eyes. Should this happen by accident, wash the cream off with copious amounts of clean water.
- If your symptoms have not improved, talk to your doctor.
- Do not use Deep Heat Rub if you get severe skin irritation or other side effects.
Do not cover the area of skin with bandages, patches or other covers. The skin can be covered by the clothes you are wearing.
If you use more Deep Heat Rub than you should
If you squeeze too much cream from the tube by accident, wipe the excess cream off with a napkin.
If you or your child has swallowed the cream, immediately talk to a doctor or a hospital.
If you forget to use Deep Heat Rub
If you forgot to use Deep Heat Rub cream, use it as soon as you remember. Do not use the cream more than 3 times in a day.
4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Patients with sensitive skin, as well as usingDeep Heat Rub cream in hot weather or after a hot bath, can get the following side effects:
- temporary redness of the skin
- burning sensation
- rash
- skin burn or blisters
Stop using Deep Heat Rub cream and talk to your doctor if you develop severe skin irritation or other side effects.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. You can also report side effects directly via www.ravimiamet.ee. By reporting side effects you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.
5. How to store Deep Heat Rub
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not store at a temperature higher than 25 °C.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the tube and carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.
6. Contents of the pack and other information What Deep Heat Rub cream contains
Active substances: 1 g of cream contains 128 mg of methyl salicylate, 59.1 mg of racemic menthol, 19.7 mg of eucalyptus oil and 14.7 mg of turpentine oil.
The other ingredients are sodium stearyl sulfate, cetostearyl alcohol, proylene glycol, wool grease (lanolin), liquid paraffin and purified water (see section 2).
What Deep Heat Rub cream looks like and contents of the pack
White cream with a menthol and methyl salicylate smell.
15 g, 35 g, 67 g, or 100 g of cream in an aluminium tube.
Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
